You can help a friend find easier ways to do things today. It’s not always easy to assist someone who needs it, especially if they don’t ask. If you notice someone you care about struggling, try relating to them first and maybe sharing a story about how you learned what you know. Approaching it this way can keep them from feeling defensive, and give you the chance to help someone through a rough spot.

Being human isn’t just about grand moments of inspiration or romance or accomplishment; it’s also about the hiccups and stumbles and disasters, the nitty-gritty of a big, complex, and challenging universe. Scrapes and bruises, mistakes and misfortunes, embarrassments and regrets: These are all just as “human” as the joys and pleasures. It’s all an adventure.
